Business Development

EMD Strategies' process begins with sitting down with your team to identify your organizations current capabilities, success stories, agency experience, agency relationships, and industry relationships. This information, coupled with our Federal Agency Research and Analysis, drives the Opportunity Identification and Qualification stage. The key component here is "Qualification" and our team doesn't consider an opportunity to be qualified until we have verification from at least 3 independent sources. Working with your team we will develop a pipeline of qualified opportunities representative of your organizations strategic plan, while taking into consideration those opportunities with the highest PWIN relative to B&P resources available.

From this point we will develop a Pursuit Plan, Current State PWIN, Competitive Landscape, and Contact Plan. All of this information, including the steps and assigned action items to get an opportunity to solution development, are input into our secure CRM, with full access granted to the client. While it is atypical of a consulting firm to allow this type of access, we believe that this provides the necessary level of transparency and seamless integration that is needed for a client to fully utilize the team they hired to win for them.

Here are a few key factors that you should seriously consider when hiring an outside consultant...

  • Is your consultant going to drive the Business Development process including all of the research, analysis, cold calls, and  introductions?
  • Is your consultant confident enough to let you hold them accountable for their commitments and timelines for action items to be completed?
  • Will your consultant allow you to have a complete view into what they are doing and how they are representing you?
  • Will your consultant have the difficult discussion with your team regarding a no bid or teaming partner decision even when your team disagrees?

EMD Strategies can answer yes to all of the above because we believe these attributes are the minimum requirements for success.
